There are 68 new confirmed cases in Selangor, seven in Kuala Lumpur and one case in Putrajaya. Penang reported 17 new confirmed cases as of noon today, Johor (3), Perak (3), Sarawak (3), Melaka (2) and Negeri Sembilan (1).
The new daily cases, which again surpassed the daily recoveries — 18 today — raised the number of active cases, which carry transmission risks, to 3,703 from 3,351 yesterday.
Of these cases, Sabah topped the list with the highest number of confirmed infections today at 282 cases, followed by Kedah (153), Selangor (19) and Penang (seven).
As of yesterday, there were 33 new cases involving those who just returned from Sabah.
Dr Noor Hisham said Dr Zulkifli is currently undergoing treatment and is in stable condition.
Kedah topped the list of states with the highest infections at 397, followed by Sabah at 219.
This is also the fifth straight day that Malaysia has reported triple-digit number of new infections since the start of this month, with 260 cases on Oct 1.
